Andrea De Marchi is a professional drummer, classical and contemporary percussionist, musician, teacher, sound technician and producer based in Treviso, Italy.
Born in Treviso, he began studying drums and percussion at the age of 10 under the guidance of Maestro Pietro Bertelli. At 19, he graduated with top marks from the G.B. Martini State Conservatory of Music in Bologna. He continued his studies in Basel-style and American drumming with Maestro Mike Quinn, and attended various masterclasses in vibraphone and marimba with teachers such as David Friedman, Dave Samuels, and Saverio Tasca.

Since 1998, he has collaborated with Brake Drum Percussion, performing contemporary music across Italy and Europe, including live broadcasts on RAI and Germany’s SWR3. With BDP he recorded the albums Percussioni d’Italia 1 and Inox Music.
He has participated in numerous contemporary music festivals, including: Finestre sul Novecento (Treviso), Sonopolis and Biennale Musica (Venice), Cinema Ritrovato (Bologna), Stadtische Museum in Heilbronn, Festival Lucero (Paris), Semaines Musicales d’Orléans, “2nd L. He contributed to the CD Antonio Segafreddo Percussion Solo and in Chamber Music (Rivaolto label), featuring works by J. Cage and O. Lacerda. This project showcases the artistry of Segafreddo and the richness of modern percussion music.
Since 1999, he has been a full-time member of the band Quarto Profilo, with whom he has recorded nine albums, including Ogni cosa che rimane (2000), 100 Parole (2002), Semplice (2016), and Come sempre c’è il tuo nome (2023).
In 2000, he enrolled at the renowned CPM Music Institute in Milan, studying under legendary drummer Walter Calloni, known for collaborations with Finardi, Fossati, Battisti, De André, Nannini, PFM, and more. He graduated with full marks in 2002.

In 2003, he joined Tiziano Ferro’s Rosso Relativo Summer Tour, performing in front of over 80,000 people in Stuttgart. In 2004, he joined the Tolo Marton Trio, playing in numerous national and international rock/blues festivals.
In 2006, he performed at the Beatles Tribute concert at Palaverde in Villorba, broadcast live by Sky Channel 872. Since 2008, he’s been involved in the projects “Giubbox” and “Movie Melodies,” reinterpreting historical tracks and film soundtracks.
In 2010, he worked on Polvere di Stelle with Gianni Ephrikian and Luciano Buosi, focused on 1940s–50s American big band music. He also toured with Don Airey of Deep Purple fame.

He continued live performances with Tolo Marton and participated in various events, including the Magic Blues Festival in Switzerland, opening for Canned Heat. In 2012, he played with Roger Glover of Deep Purple, and in 2013 became an endorser for Vic Firth and Zildjian. He co-produced the Quarto Profilo album Niente Domande and collaborated with Annalisa Scarrone on her Non So Ballare Tour.
In 2015, he recorded RG Band – 21.12 Live at Teatro del Pane, and worked on Gianni Ephrikian’s Water for Africa, which won Best International Artist at the Los Angeles Music Awards.
He produced and performed on Semplice (2016), Unplugged (2018), and Tra la polvere e il sole (2019), and became a REMO endorser in 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought the music industry to a standstill, but Andrea adapted, exploring digital platforms and online engagement. Live performances resumed in May 2021, and he returned to the studio with Quarto Profilo and continued work with Tolo Marton and Giorgio Barbarotta.
In 2021, he became a Prologix Percussion endorser and played a key role in Quarto Profilo’s 2023 album, Come sempre c’è il tuo nome, contributing as drummer and artistic producer.
